GTA 6 is not even released yet, but fans are already thinking about where part 7 should take place. There are two factions with very different opinions.
Why is there talk about GTA 7 now? The lack of news about GTA 6 drives fans back into their own thoughts. From research, it is now known: Rockstar Games had already looked into Florida shortly after the release of GTA 5 to let GTA 6 take place there.
Accordingly, it is hardly surprising that GTA fans are already considering where the journey could be in part 7. The logical step would probably be back in New York, namely Liberty City, the location of part 4.
That would be acceptable following the repetition of Los Santos (GTA 5) and Vice City (GTA 6). However, fans are also introducing another city into the mix.

Las Venturas vs. Liberty City
What kind of city is that? In a post with over 4,000 upvotes on Reddit, fans are wishing for Las Venturas, the GTA counterpart of Las Vegas, as the location for GTA 7. The name is already known from GTA San Andreas.
Here, the game took place not only in one city but in the whole state of San Andreas, where besides Los Santos (Los Angeles), San Fierro (San Francisco), and Las Venturas (Las Vegas) were part of the game.
Las Venturas was the last city in the game and was somewhat small compared to Los Santos. Here, Rockstar Games could still unleash their creativity and incorporate well-known places and Easter eggs again. But the fans are divided.
What do the fans say? There are two camps regarding the choice of the next city. While the original post certainly has a lot of likes, there are also many fans in the comments who wish for a new version of Liberty City (New York) for the next GTA. They write on Reddit:

- LuxorH: “Las Vegas is the worst place. Sure, you have the Strip and tourist spots, but otherwise, there are only residential areas like out of a factory and then miles of desert. If they can’t combine it with another biome, it will be a flop.”
- Fun-Distribution4776: “I would like something new. New York is overused in video games.”
