In Destiny 2 there are countless Lost Sectors that players can visit on their journey through the many planetary locations. We show you all the entrances to the Lost Sectors in 2025.
What are Lost Sectors? As the name suggests, Lost Sectors are places that have slipped from the hands of the Vanguard. Enemies have taken over these locations, usually winding hideouts, and it is up to the Guardians to reclaim them.
The sectors, if you have found them, consist of a small running passage filled with enemies and traps. Once you have defeated these easy enemies, you need to take out the boss of the sector.
Upon its demise, you will receive a notification on the left side of your screen that you have obtained a code for the loot chest. Now you can open the chest, and the sector is considered reclaimed. You can repeat the sector as often as you like.
Why do I need them? Essentially, Lost Sectors are rudimentary remnants from past DLCs that do not really reward you with good loot. However, Bungie added new difficulty levels that allow you to focus on farming exotic engrams.
You will have a higher chance of receiving an engram in harder difficulty levels. The currently active difficulty can be viewed on the map.
So you have a new sector to tackle every day, offering you different types of gear to hunt.
Players use and farm the sectors primarily to quickly secure the new season exotics, as these can only be focused by Rahool if you have leveled up his vendor rank often enough.
Important: Although you can complete the sectors not only solo but also in 2- or 3-player fireteams, you only receive exotics if you play the respective Lost Sector solo. Here you will also encounter the infamous champions.
How do I recognize Lost Sectors? Lost Sectors are often well hidden and hard to find. Despite the glyph-like symbol on your map, it is sometimes challenging to find the right position of the entrance on-site, especially if you are not yet familiar with the area.
That is why Bungie has placed a large symbol on the wall or a nearby rock at every entrance of a Lost Sector. This is always located very close to the entrance. Once you have discovered the sector, the symbol becomes more prominent, and the name of the sector is displayed permanently.
