Crimson Desert: Horse Armor – Where to Find It, How to Use It, and What It Brings You

In Crimson Desert you can equip your loyal mounts with useful gear. We explain everything you need to know.

What is horse gear useful for? You can significantly improve your horses with various parts by equipping them with:

• Bridle
  • Increases attack value
• Saddle
  • Increases health points
• Stirrups
  • Increases health regeneration
• Armor
  • Increases defense
• Horseshoes
  • Increases stamina regeneration and attack value

So you should equip your loyal companions with suitable gear as early as possible. How to do this and what to pay attention to, you can find out here.

Where to get horse gear in Crimson Desert?

To obtain suitable items, you have various options:

• At various saddlers across Pywel
  • You will usually find them associated with stables or markets.
    • At the beginning, you can find your first stops here:

• At contribution shops
  • You will find at least one in each region.
    • In Hernand you can find one here right at the start of the game:

• By stealing items lying around
  • You will usually only find “shabby” gear here – but better than nothing if you need it quickly.

Depending on where you are in the game, the various traders may not offer you much yet. So you have to be a bit patient if you want really cool gear.

Many traders have better items in stock for you if you increase their affection towards you by giving them gifts or chatting with them. For others, you need to increase your reputation in the region or with the respective faction.

How to equip horse gear?

To bring a new piece of gear to your mount, you must first have summoned it. You do this by using the appropriate key or through the wheel menu. Then go into the menu and select the tab for your inventory. If you take a look at your character view, you will see that next to your selected character’s name, the breed of the horse is displayed:

So select this tab and you can equip appropriate items from your inventory and also compare the values.

Customize horse gear – What works and what doesn’t?

Can horse items be upgraded? Currently, it is not possible to upgrade gear for mounts. So you need to look for better items if you care about the values.

Can horse gear be crafted? Currently, there are no crafting recipes for mount gear. Whether this will change in the future is not known yet.

Can mount armors be dyed? Yes, you can do that. Go to a dye merchant and there you can adjust the gear of your currently used mount just like you can with your character. So you can dye all parts and adjust the material.
