In Crimson Desert, you can find various backpacks during your journey. But what do they actually do? Are they just a cosmetic item or do they have strong effects that you should take advantage of? We will show you!
What are backpacks? Unlike bags that you can buy from various merchants to increase your inventory, backpacks are something different. These items, which you have surely picked up a few times during your journey, can be equipped in your inventory. Some of them, like the Farmers Pack, actually serve no function and exist only for cosmetic purposes.
Things are different with backpacks like the jetpack from Oongka, the Kuku Boltspitter (a new version of the flamethrower that emits lightning) or various Collection Packs that can automatically gather materials in your surroundings. Equipped, they then provide you with bonuses that you can benefit from.
How can I equip them? To equip backpacks, you just need to go to your inventory and place a backpack in the slot under your lantern. Below, you will find the symbol of a backpack as well as the exact position where the backpack slot is located.

Where can I find backpacks? Some of them, like the jetpack, you have to build yourself. Others can be found completely randomly, either from enemies or merchants. So keep your eyes open. Often, the locations are also tied to specific enemies, like the flamethrower. Especially backpacks for materials can frequently be found in environments where they fit, such as in quarries.
Can I also buy backpacks specifically? Yes, but not all. At the Totesmith Tannery in the Hernand Highlands, you can purchase the Peddlers Pack. As far as we currently know, no additional backpacks or types can be acquired. You can only find other examples randomly.
These were all the important details you should know about backpacks. If new information or backpacks become known, we will, of course, list them for you in our guide.
