What was that discussion about? The developers of Crimson Desert spoke with their shareholders about the future of the game. They addressed both the short-term improvements and the long-term updates and DLCs.

What does the near future look like for Crimson Desert? First of all, the developers of Crimson Desert want to address the current issues in the game. They are also clearly focusing on the controls, which still pose a real problem for many.
Here, the developers implemented improvements with the first patch, but it’s still far from perfect. They also want to adjust certain gameplay mechanics. Possible adjustments could include boss balance, certain puzzles, or quest designs.
Thus, the developers have already added more fast travel points to make it easier for players. However, you still need to unlock the one at your house.
Are DLCs coming for Crimson Desert? As of now, the developers are not planning any DLCs for Crimson Desert. They want to focus on free patches for now, which can also deliver new content.
DLCs in the form of expansions are not entirely ruled out, however. CEO Huh explicitly states that they are a valid business model, but they are not currently focusing on that, and no DLC is in the works.
Will multiplayer be included? No, the developers of Crimson Desert will not be introducing multiplayer for now. Although the title was originally planned as an MMORPG, it cannot simply be patched back in. The biggest concern is the technology. Current hardware may not provide enough performance to support multiple players in the world.
The situation with mods is similar. The developers recognize the potential of a modding community but would need to further open their engine for that. They have no objections to it, but that step is not currently planned either.
What about the story? The story of Crimson Desert is largely frowned upon by many. It is said to be not particularly exciting, and the events do not seem to logically connect.
In this regard, the CEO says he understands the users’ negative feelings. At the same time, he emphasizes that at a certain point, they decided to further improve the core gameplay elements instead of expanding the story.
It seems they had to prioritize between the two in order to meet the release deadline.
Crimson Desert continues to rise in its ratings. The fact that the developers do not want to charge money for upcoming updates will likely please the players. The only question is how much real content is packed into the patches or if the open-world adventure will remain as it currently is.
