The new enemy of ARC Raiders is mocked by the community for its appearance, but it is so dangerous that players fear a severe escalation.
What’s the deal with the Döner skewer? The “Riven Tides” update brought a new enemy to ARC Raiders, which you can encounter on various maps. The new ARC is called “Turbine” and is a heavily armored, flying ARC powered by a nozzle underneath.
The ARC is cone-shaped and throws a type of grenade or rocket at players, upon which lightning is fired. These lightning strikes deal significant damage and briefly stun you if they hit. Occasionally, the Turbine lands and reveals a weak point but scatters mines around it so you cannot easily reach it.
This is what the community thinks of the new enemy: On Reddit, many players agree that the new ARC looks like a meme enemy. They compare it to a taco or döner skewer and a menstruation cup.
However, even though the ARC looks somewhat “goofy” to many players, it is very dangerous and shows this. A Reddit user comments that the Turbine is more dangerous than any of the large ARCs. Another writes: “Looks like a meme enemy until it starts taking you out across half the map.” Overall, many players fear the immense distance from which the ARC launches its deadly attacks.
Moreover, the scattered mines can ruin a good run if you accidentally walk into them at an extraction point, reports one player who seems to be plagued by bad luck.
Why are players now afraid of upcoming updates? The strength of the Turbine makes the players of ARC Raiders realize that their enemies are constantly becoming stronger. The Vaporizer and other ARCs released post-launch, such as the Shredder and the Glowworm, show a similar trend.
Some players fear that this development is just the beginning and that the danger from ARCs could be much greater in a year. One even suspects that the real ARC crisis is yet to come and that even PvP players will someday have to worry more about NPC enemies and focus on them. The first players are already afraid of the upcoming updates in the game.
ARC Raiders is becoming tougher on the PvE side of the extraction shooter.
