Recently, in Star Wars: The Old Republic, the developers delighted fans with the finale of the current story. Now they reveal how the new expansion will continue.
How is SW:TOR doing? The MMORPG based on Star Wars is currently experiencing a bit of hype. Thanks to the new movie in theaters and the simultaneous release of the last chapter of the current expansion, it is attracting many players back into the world.
They are often excited about the technical advancements that have occurred over the last few years since the takeover by Broadsword Games as the new developer.
However, even though SW:TOR has just finalized its story, the developers already have plans for the future, and players can look forward to that.

A new expansion
What do the developers reveal? The developers of Star Wars: The Old Republic have unveiled their first information about the upcoming expansion. The first expansion under the new developer team comes with version 8.0 into the game and is set to elevate the story to a new level.
As in the past, the maximum level will be raised by five tiers to the new maximum of level 85. At the same time, the developers have already revealed that there will also be a new operation, the equivalent of raids, in the upcoming expansion.
Furthermore, they are calling on their players to check both out on the test server. They want to gather feedback to improve the upcoming patch.
When is the expansion coming? It will likely take some time before the expansion comes into play. The developers have not revealed a date yet; not all classes will be available for the maximum level in the upcoming test, and the new operation cannot be fully played yet.
It is also possible that the developers want to release their first expansion for the MMORPG with a major technical overhaul. This could involve the update to DirectX12 or additional graphics patches. Therefore, one should probably expect the new version more in autumn or winter, if at all, in 2026.
