Aion 2 is already known to have been released in the home market and is expected to come to the West sometime in 2026. Now the NCSoft officials have revealed when we can expect the release date.
What is NCSoft planning? A contribution from the Summer Game Fest on X commented the team from Aion with their own post:
“Did you hear? Yes, AION 2 is participating in the Summer Game Fest! Tune in on June 5th to see a brand new trailer with more information on the next-generation MMO. See you there, Daevas.”
It seems certain that the developers will reveal the exact release date then. After all, the successor to Aion is supposed to come to the West later this year. In the home market, the MMORPG was already launched in 2025. If the team wants to conduct one last testing phase beforehand, it should start soon.

A post on Reddit by Substantial_Pop897 shows a gallery of screenshots featuring characters that look like Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tyrael from Diablo or the Joker from the DC Universe. His accompanying praise: The character creation has no limits.
Among the images, players celebrate the power of the editor – AbyssalKultist writes: “I applaud the level of customization depth.” Aggressive-Gap9186 has a request: “Please make Cristiano Ronaldo now.”
But here too, a large part of the community jokes about the monetization of the MMORPG. not_waargh writes: “Good try, NCSoft, but I’m just too poor to afford your free games.” Consistent-Hat-8008 adds: “Do you know what also has no limits? NCSoft’s greed.”
With such comments, it seems clear that the developers need to fundamentally redesign the monetization of Aion 2 for the West in order to achieve sustainable success here.
