What kind of payment model does Aion 2 use? Aion 2 is a Free2Play MMORPG. You can download and play it for free. However, without monetary investment, you will have to live with certain limitations.
What currencies are there in Aion 2?
- Kina: The currency for the marketplace, which you primarily earn by playing.
- Quna: The premium currency used to purchase items in the in-game shop or activate the Battle Pass.
What do I need to know about the subscription? The monthly subscription for Aion 2 is optional and is said to cost $15 (there is no Euro price yet) per month. Benefits of the subscription include:
- Access to the marketplace and exchange
- Access to special gameplay bonuses
- Access to a special shop where you pay with Kina
What is the marketplace? There, you trade items with other players. The prices are set by the community. If you want to trade here, you need a subscription. Payments are made with Kina.
What is the exchange? There, you exchange Kina for Quna and Quna for Kina. If you want to trade here, you need a subscription. Therefore, you do not have to necessarily put money into activating the Battle Pass, but you can convert your earned Kina into Quna and pay for the Battle Pass that way. It is also possible to invest real money into Quna, convert it into Kina, and then purchase items on the marketplace.
What can I expect in the in-game shop? It is primarily expected to offer cosmetic items such as clothing, wings, pet companions, weapon skins, and accessories. However, you will also find items such as potions or resurrection stones that can assist you in battles. These consumables should also be obtainable through gameplay.
What do I need to know about the Battle Pass? There are two paths: a free one and a paid one. You pay for the premium path with Quna, and a specific price is not yet known, nor is how long it will be active.
- Standard path: Available for all players, rewards you for completing content in the game world.
- Premium path: Offers bonus rewards as you progress in the Battle Pass. What they are is still unclear.
Will there be founder packs? Yes, before the launch of Aion 2 in September, the developers will offer founder packs that are expected to include a selection of cosmetic items and some consumables. Additionally, purchasers of a founder pack will receive 5 days of early access.
There are 3 different founder packs:
- The Standard Edition is available for 21.25 Euros and includes five days of early access, a “Daeva’s Campaign Supply Chest,” and the unique title “Vanguard of Atreia.”
- The Deluxe Edition is available for 42.49 Euros and includes all contents of the Standard Edition as well as the armor skins “Ascended Daeva” and the weapon skin “Eternal Sun.”
- ULTIMATE: The Ultimate Edition is available for 84.99 Euros and includes all contents of the Deluxe Edition, the “Daeva’s Styling Chest,” the armor skin “Moonlit Aria,” the pet “Black Dragon,” and the wings “Blazing Sun.”
Every interested person can only purchase one founder version per account. Early access starts on September 30. The final launch follows on October 5.
What else do I need to know about Aion 2? When exactly the MMORPG will be released in September with its Free2Play model is still unclear. What is clear, however, is that the developers at NCSoft want to focus fully on PC for the global launch. In this country, the game will not initially be available for mobile devices.
