What payment model does Aion 2 use? Aion 2 is a Free2Play MMORPG. You can download and play it for free. However, without monetary investment, you will have to live with certain limitations.
What currencies are available in Aion 2?
- Kina: The currency for the marketplace, which you primarily earn by playing.
- Quna: The premium currency, which you use to purchase items in the in-game shop or activate the Battle Pass.
What do I need to know about the subscription? The monthly subscription for Aion 2 is optional and is expected to cost $15 (there is no Euro price yet) per month. Benefits of the subscription include:
- Access to the marketplace and exchange
- Access to special gameplay bonuses
- Access to a special shop where you can pay with Kina
What is the marketplace? There you trade items with other players. The prices are set by the community. Anyone who wants to trade here needs the subscription. Payment is made with Kina.
What is the exchange? There you exchange Kina for Quna and Quna for Kina. Anyone who wants to trade here needs the subscription. So you don’t necessarily have to invest money in activating the Battle Pass, but you can also convert your earned Kina into Quna and thus pay for the Battle Pass. It is also possible to invest real money into Quna, convert it into Kina, and then shop on the marketplace.
What can I expect in the in-game shop? There, especially cosmetic items like clothing, wings, pet companions, weapon skins, and accessories are supposed to be offered. You may also find items like potions or revival stones that can assist you in battles. These consumables are also expected to be earnable.
What do I need to know about the Battle Pass? It is available with two paths, a free and a paid one. You pay for the premium path with Quna, and a specific price is not yet known, just as it is unclear how long it will be active.
- Standard Path: Available for all players, rewards you for completing content in the game world.
- Premium Path: Offers bonus rewards as you progress in the Battle Pass. What these are is still unclear.
Will there be founder packs? Yes, before the launch of Aion 2 in September, the developers will offer founder packs that are supposed to include a selection of cosmetic items and some consumables. Additionally, buyers of a founder pack will receive 5 days of early access. Specific prices and dates have not yet been announced.
What else do I need to know about Aion 2? When exactly the MMORPG will be released in September with its Free2Play model is still unclear.
