Aion 2: Everything about release, early access, preload, and platforms

Will there be an early access?

Yes, a full 5 days before the official release, starting September 30. You can participate in the early access by purchasing one of the founder packages. According to an email from NCSoft to us, the start will take place at 3:00 PM. You can read more about the founder packages here:

When is the release of Aion 2 in the West?

Aion 2 will be released in its global version in the West on October 5, 2026. There is no exact statement regarding the launch time yet. However, we assume that the launch servers will also go live at 3 PM.

Is preload possible?

The preload for Aion 2 started on September 28, 2026, at 3 PM.

Will there be a beta before that?

The beta has already concluded. It took place on September 17 and 18 for a stress test, which you could sign up for via Steam. You could play during these times:

• September 17, 2026
  • 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM CET
• September 18, 2026
  • 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM CET (following day)

You could download the beta version starting from September 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM CET. Progress will not carry over to the launch. You will start completely fresh.

For which platforms will Aion 2 be released?

Aion 2 will initially only be available for PC via Steam and its own launcher. There is a mobile version for the Korean home market, but it is not intended to come to the West. A console port is in the works, but not finished yet. Owners of a PS5 and Xbox will need to show a bit of patience.

When was the release in Asia? Aion 2 has been playable in South Korea and Taiwan since November 19, 2025.

How can you switch servers?

The developers have commented on this on Steam:

Daevas,

if you are currently in the queue of an existing server or are just now joining, it’s best to create your character on a recommended server.

Server transfers will be available no later than October 13, then you will be able to switch between servers.

As a reminder: All instance content, including dungeons, is available across servers!

Note: Once we enable the server transfer, we will implement restrictions so that early access players can only switch between early access servers and not to the servers of the official launch.

Additionally, server transfers will initially be free in this phase!
