How much will Aion 2 cost? Aion 2 will be free-to-play. So you don’t have to pay anything if you just want to play the game. However, there will be various ways to invest real money in the in-game shop, in a battle pass, or an optional subscription. You can also purchase founder packages that will provide you with some items and advantages (such as early access).
What are the prices for the founder packages and what do they include? Currently, there are no official prices for the founder packages. Once this changes, you’ll find them here.
What is included and what are the available packages? So far, it is only known that there will be several versions that will include some cosmetic items and consumables as well as 5 days of early access to the new MMORPG. What exactly is in them is still unknown.
How is Aion 2 financed? In principle, there will be various ways to invest real money in Aion 2:
- Founder packages
- Offer 5 days of early access, cosmetic items, and consumables. The release date, prices, and the exact contents are still unknown.
- Currencies
- The in-game currency “Kina” can be earned and is used for the player marketplace.
- The premium currency “Quna” can be purchased with real money for the shop and the battle pass.
- Trade & Exchange
- On the marketplace, players trade their items with Kina. An exchange platform also allows direct conversion between Kina and Quna.
- Optional subscription
- Costs 15 US dollars (Euro price pending). It grants gameplay bonuses and unlocks access to the marketplace, the exchange platform, and a special shop.
- In-game shop
- Sells cosmetic items (clothing, wings, companions) as well as craftable consumables.
- Battle Pass
- Offers a free and a paid path for cosmetics, currencies, and upgrade materials.
Is Aion 2 Pay2Win or Pay2Progress? Aion 2 is primarily Pay2Progress, as the developers have already started their departure from Pay2Win some time ago. In summary, the following characteristics can be highlighted:
- Pay-to-Progress in PvE
- Those who invest real money (Quna) can directly purchase items in the auction house, thus gaining a significant time advantage in character development. Additionally, the supposedly “optional” subscription is practically mandatory for heavy players, as it grants access to essential trading functions.
- No Pay-to-Win in PvP
- In instanced player-versus-player battles, the purchased advantage dissipates as the game automatically adjusts the equipment of all participants to a comparable level. Here, skill determines the outcome, not wallet size.
- Free alternative through grind
- The system also rewards diligent free-to-play players. Earned in-game currency (Kina) can be exchanged for premium currency (Quna), allowing one to finance the battle pass completely without real money. However, a downside is that this pass applies only to a single character and not the entire account.
