In Aion 2 there are countless systems and content that affect the strength of your character. In this guide, we present three of the most important features for your hero: the Arcana cards, the Daevanion boards, and your pet collection.
What is this guide about? Here we introduce the most important systems from Aion 2 that influence the strength of your character. In the new MMORPG from NCSoft, it’s not enough just to acquire great gear and upgrade it. You also need to invest time in other areas.
We start on the first page with the Arcana cards. After that, we will take a closer look at the Daevanion boards and your pet collection. Other systems may be added to this guide in the future. You can jump directly to the relevant sections via the table of contents.
Aion 2: Arcana Cards – What they bring and where to farm them
What are Arcana cards? Every player can earn a collection of Arcana cards in Aion 2 to increase certain stats and give additional levels to their class skills. The latter bonus is particularly important. Only with Arcana cards can your best attacks and passive skills reach their respective maximum level.
Note:
- In the first season of Aion 2, you can fill a total of 4 slots with Arcana cards. New seasons will bring additional card slots.
- There are several types of cards, and the game offers exactly one matching slot for each card type.
- Cards belong to different sets. At launch, there will probably only be the two sets “Primal Vigor” and “Magic Armor”. If you have multiple cards from a set active, you unlock set bonuses. Furthermore, the sets determine which stats you receive.
- All card types come in several quality levels (indicated by the color of the card frame): gray cards improve one skill, green cards improve two skills, blue cards improve three skills, and gold cards improve four skills.
- The base version of a card improves the skills by one level each. By upgrading the card, you can increase the number of level-ups (and the stat bonus). The factor of randomness decides which skill gains another level. You upgrade your active card by investing unused cards.
Where can I get Arcana cards? If you want to farm Arcana cards specifically, farm the Transcendence Dungeons of Aion 2. The dice at the end of the content always promises a whole bunch of new cards. The higher the difficulty of the dungeon (there are a total of 4 difficulty levels), the higher the quality level of the card rewards.
Your long-term goal is to find a suitable gold Arcana card for each of the four slots with the values that match your class and the best skills for your rotation, and then level them up to the maximum. However, it will take a lot of time to achieve this goal.
Luckily, even the previous quality levels are worthwhile. A set of green Arcana cards, for example, already noticeably affects your character’s strength and helps you efficiently increase your item level – giving you access to harder content. You can learn more about it here:
Can I craft Arcana cards myself? In the overview of your Arcana collection, you will find the tab “Transmutation”. Through this, you can actually craft Arcana cards yourself. You will choose your desired set, the quality level, and the card type. A preview will show you which card type can improve which skills.
Since you can only select two of the possible four skills with a gold card, it is not possible to completely eliminate the factor of randomness from the crafting of Arcana cards. To craft the card, you need sufficient bound “Mysterious Crystals” as well as a lot of Kinah. You obtain the crystals by extracting a large number of unused cards.
