A streamer who has long been an example of the hypocrisy of Twitch has now been permanently banned from the platform. The reason: She climbed onto an Amazon truck.
Who was banned? The streamer Nina Lin was considered controversial during her time on Twitch as she gained attention through various actions during her IRL streams. For instance, she sexually harassed a young man or allegedly stole from the Target supermarket. All of this happened during her own streams on Twitch.
The community had long been demanding that she should be banned from the platform. However, the streamer repeatedly got away with brief, temporary bans.
For some, Twitch’s behavior concerning Nina Lin seemed hypocritical. YouTuber MoistCr1TiKaL gave an example where a streamer was banned for a year for a joke to a friend. However, there seemed to be no real consequences for Nina Lin and her actions at the same time:
Imagine a world where you get banned for a year for something that’s clearly just a quick joke in a single message to a friend, but sexual harassment and other crimes are only punished with 3 weeks. It’s absurd.

Now it seems Twitch has had enough of the streamer, as Dexerto reports on X, Nina Lin has been permanently banned on the streaming platform.
Why was the streamer banned? A few days ago, the US basketball team the New York Knicks won the NBA title. The first time in 53 years, which brought many celebrating people into the streets of New York City.
One of them was also Nina Lin. Together with some of her friends, she made the streets of New York unsafe while being live on Twitch. Eventually, she filmed herself climbing onto an Amazon truck and sitting on the roof.
She also uploaded the relevant scenes from her livestream to YouTube. She got down from the truck with the help of police officers, who then arrested her.
This was apparently finally too much for Twitch, and the streamer will likely no longer be able to stream on the platform in the future.
What lies ahead for the streamer is still unclear. So far, she has not commented on the ban in any statement.
However, it is quite likely that Nina Lin will continue her streaming career on the competing platform Kick. Several streamers who were previously popular on Twitch have switched to Kick for various reasons.
