Actually, Thunder Bluff is the capital of the Tauren in World of Warcraft. However, a picture from real life is going viral that also shows Thunder Bluff. The community’s reactions are great.
Where was Thunder Bluff discovered? According to the picture from the Reddit user iliketotryptamine, right next to a cactus. Apparently, the region of Mulgore, in which the capital of the fursonas stands, is not as lush and green as World of Warcraft promises.
Moreover, the inhabitants of the city in real life seem to be very shy. iliketotryptamine accompanies their shot with: “There is not a Tauren in sight…” But see for yourself, on Reddit or below:
“Invisibulls”
What is the homeland of the Tauren on Earth? Looking at the nature and the houses visible in the background, our guess pointed to the southern part of North America, near the border with Mexico (the author of these lines just recently watched Sicario).
And indeed, we don’t seem to be wrong. Various WoW fans have apparently recognized the location in the picture.
- Cel_Drow writes on Reddit: “I recognize this desert, and then Google Maps said: ‘Right here, south of Tucson’, lol.”
- Zombiegirl995 emphasizes this on Reddit: “I grew up in Tucson and was 98 percent sure that this was there.”
- Also, dakkua comes from there, on Reddit they write: “I would recognize my hometown anytime. The area around Tucson just has a very special atmosphere.”
- iCantLogOut2 can’t believe it on Reddit: “As a born New Yorker, I just wanted to say that ‘I recognized the desert’ is quite a statement for anyone who doesn’t live in a desert.”
Overall, the picture is also very well received. The over 5,570 thumbs up and more than 165 comments underline this. Included are explanations for why there are no Tauren to be seen:
- An Orc stole the sign and put it up in the Barrens.
- The steakhouse nearby explains where the Tauren have gone.
- It’s like Thunder Bluff from WoW is simply a ghost town.
- The local Tauren are … Attention … this is going to be legen … wait for it … “Invisibulls”.
