Why is this an alternative to Destiny? If you mainly played Destiny 2 to endlessly refine your build and hope for better loot while grinding activities, The Division 2 is just what you need to fill that gap.
The loot shooter from Ubisoft not only offers countless weapons and gear to build various setups suited to your play style. The Division 2 also has a huge selection of endgame content that stretches far beyond the well-known Dark Zone. There are different activities like raids, seasonal content such as manhunts, events, and modes like “Countdown,” “The Summit,” or the roguelite mode “Descent.”
What you need to know about the game: The Division 2 is a loot shooter in third-person perspective, where gameplay mainly revolves around cover mechanics. Within a mission, you’re often faced with the same gameplay loop: you enter a room with enemies, seek cover, plan and initiate your attack.
Throughout the game, you become stronger by improving your stats, collecting stronger weapons and gear, and building a setup that fits your individual play style. Alternatively, you farm meta builds to dominate every enemy.
There is so much to do in The Division 2 that it is my game of the summer and will easily fill it: Summer 2026 is the perfect time to grind one of the best loot shooters of the past decade
