What makes the game stand out? In Erenshor, everything revolves around you and your character, literally. After all, you are moving alone through the fantasy world. However, the many AI-driven SimPlayers create an MMO feel reminiscent of EverQuest and Co.
The simulated NPCs are eager for loot, trade, join or leave guilds, and tackle the group challenges of Erenshor with you – just recently there are even raids. However, you save yourself the annoying waiting times or the pressure to regularly have to set off with your guild.
This concept is well received by many players who give the single-player MMORPG a chance, with 94 percent of the 2,045 reviews being positive. However, Erenshor currently has two problems: Firstly, the player numbers are still low, which fortunately does not negatively impact your gaming experience, unlike real MMOs.
Secondly, many players quit Erenshor already within the first hours. Various interested parties do not even make it to the first NPC conversation after 30 seconds. The solo developer behind the project reports on this: The perfect solo MMORPG has 94% on Steam, yet players don’t even play for 30 seconds
