The Sith Lord is also known as Tenebrae. He ruled the Sith Empire as its leader for around 1,500 years because he prolonged his life through dark side rituals. Among other things, he drained the life from a planet and 8,000 other Lords to sustain his own.
His abilities as a Sith are immense: He can penetrate the minds of others and track them down, no matter how far away they are. Vitiate possesses great knowledge that he has accumulated over the years.
As Sith Emperor, he controls countless subordinates and used the so-called “Voice of the Emperor” to communicate with them through possessed bodies and issue commands. Later, he founds the Eternal Empire, rules it as Emperor Valkorion, and turns against both the old Empire and the Republic alike.
