What is it about? Kiba is a white wolf who gathers a group of other wolves around him. Together they search for paradise, for which they need the flower maiden Cheza as a key. The problem is: They are targeted by wolf hunters.
In the world they live in, wolves are considered extinct. Only the wolves would have known how to reach paradise. To protect themselves from humans, the wolves have learned to create an illusion and present themselves as human beings.
Why is the anime not for kids? The series revolves around the philosophical question of whether paradise really exists or if death is final. It also raises the question of whether it is worth fighting for such a dream, even if one loses everything.
The brutality of the anime and the desolate setting of the broken world further weigh down the mood. The cities are ruins, the characters are on the run, and you never shake the feeling that this is the “end time.”
