What is it about? In 2071, the Earth has become uninhabitable, so humanity has spread throughout the solar system. The police are overwhelmed by criminals, so registered bounty hunters help them out.
Among these bounty hunters is Spike Spiegel. Together with Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed, and their corgi, he hunts criminals across space to support his lifestyle. However, his love named Julia and his enmity with Vicious play a significant role.
Why is the anime not for kids? When you think of Cowboy Bebop, does the soundtrack of the series come to mind first? The mix of jazz and blues comes from Yoko Kanno and her band The Seatbelts, indicating that the anime is aimed at an adult audience.
Much clearer: Themes such as drugs and violence are depicted, albeit not as graphically as in other series. Additionally, each of the flawed heroes has some dirty laundry, and the crew is more of a functional community rather than a group of friends who go through thick and thin together.
