From today, you can unlock normal flying in WoW: Dragonflight. We will tell you how it works.
With the launch of Patch 10.2 Watcher of Dreams, there is not only a new area and a new raid but also some other unlocks. One of the most requested wishes is the ability to use normal flying on the Dragon Isles. So far, it has only been possible to use “dynamic flying,” that is, dragon riding.
But with Patch 10.2 Watcher of Dreams, you can now earn normal flying. We will tell you how it works.
Quickly unlock flying in Dragonflight
What do you have to do? To unlock normal flying, you need the meta achievement “Pathfinder of the Dragon Isles.” The principle is already known from other expansions. However, the individual achievements this time are significantly easier to unlock, and you should already have the vast majority of them if you actively play World of Warcraft. The 8 individual parts of the meta achievement are:
- Awakening Hope: Complete the main quest chain on the Awakening Coast.
- No Pain, No Gain: Complete the main quest chain in the Ohn’ahran Plains.
- Azureblue Mountaineers: Complete the main quest chain in the Azure Mountains.
- Don’t Ask Me How to Spell That: Complete the main quest chain in Thaldraszus.
- Ember of Neltharion: Complete the main quest chain on the way to and in the Zaralek Cavern.
- Explorer of the Dragon Isles: Fully explore all regions of the Dragon Isles.
- Exploration of the Zaralek Cavern: Fully explore the Zaralek Cavern.
- Explore the Emerald Dream: Fully explore the Emerald Dream.
If you have played actively, only the last part of the achievement, the exploration of the Emerald Dream, will still be missing:
What does normal flying bring? Although dragon riding was very well received by most players, there are still some who simply cannot get used to this new way of traveling and find no joy in the resource system.
For farming herbs and ores, some find the old flying more pleasant, in addition to the bonus that you can simply “go afk in the air” – this is not possible with dragon riding as the dragons would descend to the ground.
