The MMORPG Lost Ark has now been released in several regions and is continuously receiving content updates. The game now features 21 different classes, each with its unique gameplay characteristics.
At the release in spring 2022 in the West, 15 of the classes will be playable. In the video, we show you which ones they are and what makes them special.
How does the class system of Lost Ark work? Players start by choosing from 5 different base classes, which are genderlocked. The base classes are Martial Artist, Warrior, Sorceress, Gunner, and Assassin.
Starting at level 10 and after completing a starter quest line, players then have the option to specialize into an “advanced” class:
- The Martial Artist can become a Scrapper, Soulfist, War Dancer, or Battle Monk.
- The Warrior can become a Gunlancer, Berserker, or Paladin.
- The Sorceress can become a Bard or Summoner.
- The Gunner can develop into an Artillerist, Artillerist (female), or Sharpshooter.
- The Assassin can become a Deathblade or Shadow Hunter.
Unlike many traditional MMORPGs, Lost Ark does not utilize the “Holy Trinity” system of tanks, healers, and damage dealers. Instead, nearly all classes have support and crowd control abilities that they can use in combat.
Lost Ark is among the most anticipated MMORPGs releasing in the West in 2021/2022. After the first alpha test, many are now eagerly waiting for the beta of the game. The Closed Beta starts on November 4th and runs until November 11th.
