What is linen thread? This material is one of the last that you can get in Valheim. You craft weapons and armor from linen thread to prepare for the final boss fight against the fifth Yagluth.
You get linen in the form of the raw material flax, which you can find and grow in the plains. However, you have to fight through some of the toughest and most annoying opponents of Valheim.
Getting linen thread – How to craft it
What you need for crafting: Crafting linen thread is easy. However, you first need flax. You simply need to weave the collected flax on a spinning wheel – it will take care of the rest. However, for the spinning wheel you need a workbench, which you only get after defeating Moder.

Where can I find flax? Flax often grows in small farming areas in goblin camps. Keep an eye out for clusters of huts in the plains – flax or barley can often be found there.
A tip for harvesting: If you use the special attack of an Atgeir, you can mow down all the flax around you without losing any. You can then simply collect it.
Once you have found flax, you can easily grow it. To do this, you need a bronze plow and first need to cultivate the soil. Just plant the flax.
But be careful: Flax ONLY grows in the plains! You can plant it anywhere, but it will not grow outside of the plains! Be mindful not to waste any plants.

Linen thread for the best weapons in Valheim
What you need the thread for: Once you have crafted linen thread for the first time, you will probably learn quite a few new recipes. You need the thread for:
- some of the best weapons in Valheim
- some of the best armors
- the linen cloak
Additionally, you will need other materials such as silver, fine wood, or black metal. Especially for the weapons, you should gather a large amount of metal.
