A Twitch streamer used a very special green screen and was promptly banned from the platform.
What did the Twitch streamer do? The streamer Morgpie has over 400,000 followers on Twitch and was able to entertain an average of 4,949 viewers in her streams over the last 30 days (Source: SullyGnome.com). For a Dark Souls 3 stream, she came up with something very special:
The streamer held the underside of her feet up to the camera to use them as a green screen for the gameplay. Morgpie streamed the whole thing under the name Dark Soles
(Dark Soles
), a play on the title of the game.
Her stream resulted in a temporary ban from Twitch. A reason for the ban was not given – Morgpie herself asked on X: WHY???
Presumably, the streamer violated Twitch rules by showcasing her feet. In their guidelines Twitch states that Content that focuses on covered intimate body parts such as the buttocks, groin area or breasts for extended periods
is prohibited. While this was not the case in Morgpie’s stream, feet can be interpreted in a sexual manner.
Body Parts as Twitch Background
What has Morgpie done in the past? In her previous streams, there have been some actions by Morgpie that went in a sexual direction. Morgpie attracted significant attention, for example, when she played Fortnite on her butt two years ago. She used a picture of her buttocks and placed a green screen over it, on which she then streamed her Fortnite gameplay.
Morgpie’s current action is reminiscent of a trend that was very present on Twitch several years ago. Twitch streamers used their body parts – preferably their breasts or butts – to stream gameplay on, as Kotaku reported back then. Often they want to lure their viewers to other platforms where more explicit content can be monetized.
This was not the first ban for Morgpie on Twitch: In 2023, Morgpie positioned herself in front of the camera in a way that implied she was not wearing a top. Even now, Morgpie’s streams often feature explicit content: the streamer continues to present herself provocatively in front of the camera. Morgpie is known for continuously testing the limits of Twitch’s guidelines.
