Twitch streamer Tyler1 is primarily known for League of Legends and his fiery temper. He has had a longtime rival against whom he enjoys taking jabs. However, he suffered a humiliating defeat at a major tournament. Now he could take his revenge.
Since 2022, there has been a rivalry between the Twitch berserker Tyler1 and Ludwig Ahgren. At a LoL event hosted by streamer Ninja, Tyler1 was so dissatisfied with Ludwig’s performance that he called him a total weak point
. This sparked a back-and-forth that continues to this day.
So the two also met at EVO 2026 in Las Vegas. This is one of the largest fighting game tournaments in the world, where players compete live in various games. The two streamers faced off on June 26 in Street Fighter 6. This is a game in which Tyler1 has invested several hundred hours and had already reached the rank of Master before the match.
Both were cocky before the match, but Tyler1, who was considered the favorite, lost 10 to 3. Ludwig surprised him with the character Marisa, against whom Tyler1 (who played Guile) has always had problems. Beforehand, Ludwig practiced with a different character, probably to mislead his opponent.
Considering how much time Tyler1 had invested in Street Fighter 6, it was still a humiliating defeat. At least he was able to take his revenge now.
A Revenge That Tyler1 Probably Needed
What was the revenge of the two? On July 8, Ludwig organized his own online tournament in Street Fighter 6 with various other streamers. There was also a rematch between him and Tyler1. The first to win 3 matches wins the set.
Tyler1 played Guile again and Ludwig again played Marisa. However, Tyler1 seems to have improved against his counter, as he won this time 3 to 1 against Ludwig and celebrated his victory against his nemesis loudly in front of the camera. True to form, he rants about his opponent (via Twitch).
Shortly before the tournament, Tyler1 also reached the rank of Grandmaster in Street Fighter 6, so he seems to be steadily improving in the game.
How is the victory received by the community? Overall, the tournament and also Tyler1’s victory seem to be well received on Reddit. User MrPage123 (Reddit) writes that the tournament is a 10/10. Another user (Reddit) simply wonders: Why is Tyler good at everything?
Additionally, user _yotsuna_ (Reddit) comments that Tyler1 wouldn’t achieve such a victory on an offline stage. It should be noted that a situation on a live stage with an audience can create significantly more pressure than an online tournament accompanied by Twitch viewers.
However, since Tyler1 achieved a new rank and seems to have trained harder, his victory should be appreciated.
