Shortly before the start of the new season of Path of Exile 2, the developers have released the last information. The download is already available.
What have the developers announced? This evening at 21:00, the first major update “Dawn of the Hunt” is set to be released. The developers of Path of Exile 2 addressed the players in a post (via PathofExile.com). It contains the last information about the update.
At 19:00 German time, the servers of Path of Exile 2 will be taken down for maintenance. They are scheduled to be ready again at 21:00 when “Dawn of the Hunt” begins. The update will be about 31 GB on PC and approximately 27 GB on console. The preload on console is already available and does not prevent you from playing PoE2 until the new season starts.
What is the catch? On PC, the preload is expected to start around 18:00 German time (via Discord). However, those with slow internet can already download the new season of Path of Exile 2 via the developers’ website (via PathofExile.com).
The catch is that while you can download the patch now, you are not allowed to install it beforehand; otherwise, you will no longer be able to play Path of Exile 2. You can only install the patch from 18:00, otherwise, you will not be able to start PoE2 until then. If you do not adhere to this, you will have to wait until the evening and end up with a longer waiting period than usual.

What else have the developers announced? During the day, the developers also introduced the new Twitch drops. Between the start of the new season and April 13, 2025, at 01:59 AM, you can secure the pet “Azmeric Stag” on Twitch. To do this, you need to watch for a total of 3 hours cumulatively.
From April 13 at 02:00 AM, the reward will change. From this date, there will be the “Hunter Trophy Back Attachment”, which adds a hunting trophy as a kind of backpack to your character. Additionally, there is the “Honor Guard Rhoa Summoning Effect,” which gives the new mount a skin and decorates it with armor.
To receive the drop, go to the linked website of Path of Exile and click “Connect” next to Twitch in the “Other Connections” tab. After completing this, you should see that your account is connected on the website. Then you can simply watch a Twitch stream that has the drops enabled and receive the rewards after 3 hours.
