In Path of Exile 2, all players are currently waiting for the release of update 0.3, as it will introduce new content, a season, and a reason to start playing again. It is therefore even more exciting that GGG has now released its first teaser, although it is very cryptic.
What is so special about update 0.3? After a few months have passed since the release of “Dawn of the Hunt”, fans are thirsty for a new league and new content. Update 0.3 is supposed to provide just that around the end of August. The developers of Path of Exile 2 have already teased some minor details for the upcoming update in several interviews, but what the main innovation is, no one knows for sure…until now.
Recently, GGG published a small teaser on its X account (source: x.com) and it is just as cryptic as the previous teasers for the PoE1 season “Secrets of the Atlas”. Many fans are confused, but a few can already guess what the community might expect soon.
Many theories, but two of them are the most plausible
What does the teaser show? The teaser displays various symbols on a parchment, and some of them are even highlighted. A person is trying to decipher the symbols and recognize a pattern, but according to a quote from GGG, time is running out for him. The parchment originates from a lost library in the ruins of Oriath, and the highlighted symbols mean:
- Beginning
- Well
- Winter
- Birth
What are fans discussing? According to fans, the symbols can only mean two things:
- One or two classes are being teased:
- The Druid
- The Templar
- New acts are being teased
- Primarily Act 4
According to the creator of the loot filter “NeverSink”, the symbols represent precursors of the Kalguur runes. They are very similar in form and design. Additionally, the art book indicates that Act 4 is supposed to take place in Kingsmarch, which is also located on Kalguur land. This place is associated with the Well of Souls, the Well from the teaser. That’s too many coincidences.
Other players believe that because 5 symbols are circled, there will be 5 acts available in the game after the release of update 0.3. Another suggested that since the parchment was found in Oriath, it could tease the Templar class, as they originate from Oriath. One player even goes so far as to say that the Druid will appear, one of the new classes.
Lastly, there is also a theory surrounding the fifth circled symbol. This shows two points that are directed upwards.
The notes then list positions of nobility that rise higher – from nobility to king, but all are crossed out, as if the person is trying to find out the power of something or someone. It’s quite possible that a god is being sought here, and anyone who has played PoE1 will know which one even has horns – Kitava.
Essentially, all theories are just speculation, and it remains to be seen to what extent they will come true. All seem plausible in some form.
