Path of Exile 2 is extensively played by fans despite its Early Access status, but there are many issues that the developers are aware of. Some are set to be addressed with Patch 0.3 and they could significantly change the endgame.
Where is PoE2 currently? In the “Early Access” phase. The game is already available and can be played by purchasing a key. Path of Exile 2 is still in an unfinished state. The game does not yet have all classes and Ascendancies, and regarding the acts in the campaign, they are also not all completed yet.
Nevertheless, GGG, the studio behind the hack & slash, did not miss the opportunity to entertain its fans with the season “Dawn of the Hunt”. Path of Exile 2 can impress graphically and gameplay-wise, but there are many issues such as problems with crafting, endgame content, and builds that are not convincing, which the studio still needs to address.
Some of these issues are set to be resolved soon with the upcoming Patch 0.3. What you can look forward to, you can find out here.
Classes and skills are set to be more diverse in the endgame
What does GGG have planned? Through various interviews, GGG has revealed a lot of information about the future of Path of Exile 2. The next major update is Version 0.3, which is set to bring many changes. Reddit user StalksYouEverywhere has therefore listed all the points you can expect in the coming weeks (Source: reddit.com):
- A new league mechanic (from PoE2, improved and adapted for PoE2)
- New Tribal bosses
- New layouts for your maps in the endgame (to be simpler)
- Adjustments to skills (so that weak skills are useful in endgame)
- Adjustments to the Ascendancies (buffs or changes to weaker specializations)
- Tutorial in the campaign regarding crafting
- Buffs or reworks regarding essences
These are things that GGG has actively communicated in the interviews. One of the sticking points that fans enjoyed but led to a monotonous meta was the class of the Huntress in combination with the Lightning Spear – that is set to change with Update 0.3.
Which classes deserve more love? Almost all of them, to be precise. Many classes are just managing to hold their own in the endgame with certain builds, but when it comes to power fantasies, nothing comes close to the Lightning Spear build.
Other classes should soon have the chance to obliterate bosses and maps in seconds. Therefore, GGG is taking another look at this. Especially the warrior deserves significant changes to get back on track, as he has struggled the most with his skills and build variations – whether in bossing or map clearing.
It remains to be seen how extensive the changes will be and what exactly the studio has planned for 0.3. However, GGG is not only working on PoE2; its predecessor has also received a new season, which was well received by fans: After 10 months, Path of Exile finally gets a new season, immediately pressing the right hype buttons with the fans
