The Steam hit Windrose probably won’t receive any major updates with new content for the time being, as the developers have other priorities.
Why do players need to be strong? In a post on Steam, the developers of Windrose, Kraken Express, break down what players can expect in the near future. One of the most common questions to the developers is when to expect the first major update with new content. The answer: in about 6 months.
This can be disappointing for some players. After all, Windrose is still in Early Access and currently has quite little to offer. Many players seem to have already completed the current story, at least that’s how Kraken Express describes it.
However, the developers also state that they will be able to provide more information in one to two months. At the moment, the roadmap is still in the early planning phase.
Fix bugs and then explore new areas
What is the developers’ plan? Instead of looking forward to new content for the pirate game, players can hope for something else: bug fixes and stability. The developers want to focus primarily on making the game more stable and enjoyable for their community in the near future.
For this purpose, they have developed a new tool (windrose.support) that allows players to address issues in the game more easily:
- An ever-growing knowledge base can help players fix known issues.
- Bugs that players notice during gameplay can be reported easily.
- Players can also provide feedback and express wishes for the game there.
The next update is currently being tested by the developers, they write. Among other things, it aims to improve connection, performance, and stability.
Kraken Express continues by stating that as soon as they have completed comprehensive bug fixes, they will then focus on adding new biomes to the game. There is even already a name for the next area: Ashlands. The content update will also incorporate community feedback.
