Blizzard chief J. Allen Brack promises that BlizzCon 2019 will be the best one yet. However, fans remain skeptical, although the previous year is easy to surpass.
In about a month, BlizzCon will take place again for all Blizzard fans. The event will feature all major franchises of the game developer. From World of Warcraft to Diablo, Overwatch and Hearthstone, there is something for everyone.
Already in advance, J. Allen Brack, the current head of Blizzard Entertainment, calls it the best one yet. He says (translated):
This year’s BlizzCon is shaping up to be the best we’ve ever had, and we want to ensure that everyone in the Blizzard community can experience it together, whether they are there in person, at home, or within the games. We look forward to presenting an epic experience for everyone watching our free streams – this time, they will have more to offer than ever before – and also for those who check out the extras available with the virtual ticket.

Could there be some truth to this? Basically, it is clear that a chief will always talk about an upcoming event being the best one yet, especially when the year 2018 is remembered as a poor BlizzCon. However, at least if one believes the rumors over the last few months, a lot of new features could be showcased in 2019. Very likely are:
- A new expansion for World of Warcraft
- Diablo 4
- A larger Overwatch project
- Another mobile project
- A completely new franchise
At least the goodies are nice: One aspect of BlizzCon 2019 seems to be quite good already, namely the goodies. These are available as rewards in the various Blizzard games when purchasing the virtual ticket. This includes cool Illidan and Tyrande skins in Overwatch, but also quite silly (or funny?) transmog sets and pets in World of Warcraft.

When does BlizzCon take place? BlizzCon 2019 takes place on November 1 and 2, which is a weekend. As usual, the events start in the late evening hours and at night according to German time. So, if you buy a virtual ticket for €40, you should be prepared for a long night shift if you want to experience it all live.
Last year caused skepticism: However, many fans take these words with a bit of gallows humor. Last year, BlizzCon brought only disappointments for many players. Instead of Diablo 4, there was only the announcement of the mobile game ‘Diablo Immortal’ and the announcement of a remakes of Warcraft 3. The question from a developer “Don’t you guys have phones?” regarding the disappointment of the “mobile only” Diablo has remained a meme in all Blizzard games to this day.
At least: It should be easy to surpass last year.
Or what do you think?
