Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is currently the largest streamer for the MMORPG New World on Twitch. Although he claims to be going through an MMO phase and desires new games from the genre, he will not play the upcoming Lost Ark. He is bothered by two things.
What bothers shroud? In a livestream, shroud was asked if he would play the new MMORPG Lost Ark. It is set to release on February 11 and especially draws attention with its isometric perspective and sheer amount of content. It is the largest new MMORPG of 2022.
However, shroud is not very impressed. He is particularly bothered by two things:
- The visuals
- The combat system
To indulge in his MMO phase, he is now considering playing old classics like Star Wars: The Old Republic, WoW, or City of Heroes on a private server.

What does shroud exactly say about Lost Ark? In response to the question of why he is not interested in Lost Ark, shroud answered: “I’m not a fan of the style, of this exaggerated style.”
shroud refers to the often very large and colorful animations that the attacks in the game have. Some of our readers, like Osiris80, do not appreciate them either, seeing it more as a kind of mobile MMO.
Besides the visuals, there is another point of criticism for him: the combat system. He finds it “simply not appealing” enough. However, he does not elaborate on this point.
After that, the Twitch streamer explained that he is currently going through an MMO phase:
The phase I am in right now is very much characterized by MMOs. I really just want to play MMOs. I am in a weird MMO phase.
However, Lost Ark is not one of these games. Shroud himself states that it is “a shame” that he cannot get excited about the MMORPG because it would have been a good filler.

What games is shroud playing right now? Immediately after the Q&A, shroud played New World and showcased dungeons with the new mutators.
The MMO from Amazon is his most streamed game on Twitch. Since early September 2021, he has spent over 435 hours livestreaming New World (via Sullygnome).
Only the games Valorant (337 hours) and Escape from Tarkov (174 hours) have received similar attention. In terms of MMORPGs, shroud has also shown WoW and 7 hours of Lost Ark in beta in November.
What fascinates shroud about New World? shroud is a grinder through and through. New World offers him plenty of tasks and a loot spiral with which he can spend hundreds of hours.
Just in December, he praised the upcoming dungeon mutators, also because you need skill and the right equipment for them. Even in the livestream, he frequently showcases grinding in the form of dungeons and the gypsum system to enhance his skills and item level.
