ArcheAge 2 – New Sandbox with Less PvP

What kind of game is this? ArcheAge 2 is set to be a full-fledged successor to the sandbox MMORPG ArcheAge and will also strongly orient itself to the predecessor. However, the developers want to bring fewer features and instead endow them with more depth.
It has also been revealed that ArcheAge 2 is more focused on the West as its target audience. For this purpose, the PvP content in the open world will be reduced, focusing more on small GvG battles and caravan fights. For PvE fans, there will be more story campaigns and dungeons.
What makes it so interesting? ArcheAge 2 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and looked significantly better than the predecessor in the first trailer. Moreover, the game world is expected to be about twice as large, without appearing empty.
The developers promise:
- Diverse class specializations that can be mixed again
- The well-known six playable races Elves, Nuian, Dwarves, Firran, Harani and Warborn
- Loads of quests that you can complete once or daily
- Large battles between guilds
- Dungeons and raids
- Ships and naval battles
- Trading as an important gameplay element
Of course, there will be housing in the open world again, but it will be slightly adjusted. Players will be able to work together on houses and connect them into huge cities. The focus on guilds should also be greater. Housing should be more integrated into the topics of trade and crafting.
How has the development gone so far? In 2021, ArcheAge 2 was officially announced. At that time, there was no gameplay to see yet, but the developers first talked about their concepts and ideas.
A year later, the release was announced for 2023, which was quickly postponed to 2024.
Recently, there was a new update in the quarterly report in November. It was said that the major reveal with all features should take place at gamescom 2024. Immediately afterwards, beta tests are to follow.
How likely is the release in 2024? 40%. This year there will be beta tests that players can participate in. However, the release seems rather unlikely. However, it comes through that work on ArcheAge 2 is already quite advanced. A release in 2025, at the latest 2026, is very likely.
