Berengar is a witcher of the Wolf School, who plays an important role, especially in Witcher 1. Similar to Geralt, he is not always thrilled about being a witcher. He perceives this fate more as a curse, as he is despised by all humans and could never lead a normal life.
He therefore disappears from Kaer Morhen and sides with the opposition. Berengar joins a criminal organization to whom he reveals secret details about the fortress and the life of a witcher.
In Witcher 1, one tracks the actions of the renegade witcher and can eventually locate him. Berengar seems to regret his betrayal, but remains bitter about his condition. Geralt then has to decide whether to kill the traitor or forgive him.
