Reinald was a witcher of the Wolf School and a talented blacksmith. Unfortunately, his skills were lost when he took on a fateful contract.
He was hired to eliminate the dangers in the Devil’s Pit. It does not sound very inviting, and it was not. A cult used this place to lock away infected plague victims.
Arriving at the Devil’s Pit, Reinald encountered a powerful evil spirit, the red miasma. The creature infected the witcher, after which he was banished to the mine by his employer.
Reinald realized he was possessed and retreated to the deepest point of the mine. There, he magically locked himself away to prevent the miasma from infecting more people.
He remained like this for over 300 years until he was finally found by Geralt and freed from his suffering.
