At the Summer Game Fest 2026, the people responsible for ArenaNet unveiled the new trailer for Guild Wars 3.
What did ArenaNet show? You are returning to the world of Tyria! 14 years after the original release of Guild Wars 2, the long-awaited successor is being released.
Especially interesting: The beta is set to be released in autumn 2027, and you can register at guildwars3.com. However, you should note that you are only registering for a chance to be one of the first to play – there is no guarantee.
What does Guild Wars 3 bring? On stage, the people responsible spoke of a completely new type of MMO experience, as well as a release on PC and PS5. The announcement refers to an action-adventure MMORPG and a modern evolution of the genre

What kind of content is in Guild Wars 3?
According to the press release, you can expect the following content:
- You can play alone or with others
- Build meaningful relationships – with other players or NPCs
- Guild Wars 3 takes place over a thousand years before the original game
- It draws you into the region of Orr
- The game revolves around the Vael spirits and their disagreement on how to deal with
areas beyond civilization
- You play as Vael Guardians,
members of an adventurer guild dedicated to protecting the wild spirits and the lands of Orr
. - The combat system is said to be playable well with both keyboard and controller.
- It seems to be much about movement and positioning. The faster you are, the more damage you deal.
