The game was released on November 2, 2023 on Steam and currently you can get it directly 30% off until November 16, 2023.
The launch trailer shows you a lot of gameplay:
What can you expect? In the open world of Achilles: Legends Untold, you will encounter many different enemies, which include not only humans and human forms but also mystical creatures, mythical beings, and animals.
These various enemies challenge you with also varying combat patterns, as seen in the trailer. From humans attacking you with weapons to giants throwing you around and griffins utilizing their entire body for combat, there is a lot to offer.
As the trailer promises, you must master and utilize many techniques in battle to emerge victorious. Besides defensive tactics like blocking and dodging, we see in the trailer a variety of different attacks.
Besides the gameplay, the trailer also shows various areas that convey the impression of a dark, almost destroyed world, thus not only reminding of other Souls-like games but also conveying the atmosphere of the war between humans and gods.
Additionally, the developers promise you a special gaming experience through the innovative GAIA system, named after the goddess or shortly for: Group AI Action. This system promises that enemies engage without scripted interactions and utilize their environment to attack strategically and coordinated.
The hero with the weak heels causes excitement
What are the reactions? The comments under the trailer (via YouTube) are indeed an interesting mix.
Among others, pbu9174 writes that the game is well done and is already asking about Achilles 2. Similarly, other users praise the game or what they see from the trailer. User CronosVids even thanks the gods that Achilles does not feel like any other Soulsbourne
game.
Alongside positive comments about the game and the trailer in general, there are especially some funny statements about the hero of the story himself:

If you get hit in the heel, it’s Game Over
- LegionIscariot writes:
I was once a warrior like you, then an arrow hit me in the heel
- TGBurgerGaming asks:
Can we upgrade our heel and foot armor?
Some negative comments criticize the graphics and compare it to games from 10 years ago. For example, user angelolima4811 writes that he wished the game was Free2Play due to the graphics. User NivRel, on the other hand, finds that the game looks cool but could use a bit more Greek aesthetics.
