The Free2Play MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic has an offensive planned for 2015. They want to ride the wave of success from the new film trilogy, and now they are bringing the first trailer into position.
It was a statement that raised eyebrows: Bioware no longer has time to develop the heavily promoted online game Shadow Realms. Resources are needed elsewhere, and that happens to be with the somewhat aging MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.
One might have assumed that SWTOR – like other MMOs in its fourth year – would take things a bit easier. But no, the opposite is meant to be the case. Bioware wants to make a serious push in 2015, they aim to strike in the wake of the new Star Wars trilogy.
The concept also fits a new trailer. It shows nothing new to hardcore fans but clearly appeals to a “new customer base” and appeals to their dark side.
