One year ago, Fritz Meinecke announced his project with the co-founders of 7 vs. Wild on the series. Now, Meinecke is suddenly back in the wilderness.
Who is it about? Fritz Meinecke is the founding father of 7 vs. Wild and created the show along with Johannes Hovekamp and Maximilian Kovacs. After being significantly involved in seasons 1 to 4, his time at 7 vs. Wild ended in 2025.
Although Meinecke had grown up with survival videos for many years, during this time, his content on YouTube shifted towards cycling. What sounds relaxing was, for Meinecke, characterized by ultra-races that meant covering several hundred kilometers and many altimeters in just a few days with little sleep.
But one year after the end of 7 vs. Wild, Fritz Meinecke suddenly returns to survival, and fans have a nasty suspicion.

What is Meinecke doing there? A little more than a year after the farewell video from 7 vs. Wild and only months after Meinecke stated that survival was no longer a topic for him, a new survival video suddenly appears on his channel.
In “24 Hours on Tropical Island 2”, the content creator, as the name suggests, goes into survival. With his typical “Abracadabra, here I am again”, he returns after more than a year hiatus from survival. In the video, he finds a campsite, sets up his hammock, and even takes the viewers with him snorkeling.
The video reaches over 740,000 views on YouTube within two days, surpassing the most clicked video of season 6 of 7 vs. Wild. Seeing Fritz Meinecke back in his element excites the viewers. However, the loyal fans of 7 vs. Wild believe that there is more behind the video than just nostalgia.

What is the suspicion? In the Subreddit of 7 vs. Wild, fans discuss why Meinecke is now doing survival again, despite having ruled it out just months ago. Some emphasize that the creator has probably always been a spontaneous free spirit, doing what comes to mind. Others have a different suspicion.
It seems almost too fitting that just about a year after the exit from 7 vs. Wild, survival content reappears. Fans on Reddit believe that Meinecke may have been contractually obligated not to publish competing formats.
Fans believe that the switch to bicycle content might explain this. However, this is only a fan suspicion and may be completely untrue, half-true, or partially true. What the contracts around the sale of 7 vs. Wild state remains uncertain.
