Horror movies are a popular film genre because they throw their protagonists into extreme situations and play with our own fears. Few films work as well as Jaws, especially for those who love swimming in the ocean.

Jaws also had an impact on social life when it was released, especially in the USA. The idea that a malevolent killer shark was prowling off the idyllic beaches seemed to become a reality through this film.
In it, a resort town, as is often the case, is attacked by a great white shark. The brilliance of Spielberg’s animal horror is that he does not show the monster for a long time. We only see what it causes, like when it kills a swimmer.
