Rockstar Games has just announced when you can pre-order GTA 6: It will only take a few days.
When do the pre-orders start? The pre-orders for GTA 6 will start on June 25, 2026. This means you can pre-order the action game in just one week.
For which platforms can you pre-order GTA 6? As seen on the Rockstar Games website, GTA 6 will be available for pre-order on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As expected, there will be no PC version of GTA 6 available at the release on November 19, 2026.
When GTA 6 will be released for PC remains unclear.
How much will the pre-order cost? Currently, it is not known how much GTA 6 or the pre-order of the game will cost. We will likely find out on June 25.
Cover Art and Pre-orders – Finally More About GTA 6
This is seen on the cover art: The cover art for GTA 6 is again in the typical style of the series, essentially a tiled collage showcasing various vehicles and characters from the game. Alongside protagonists Jason and Lucia, we see an alligator, a speedboat, a helicopter with floats (looks like the Sea-Sparrow from GTA V), a motorcycle, and a yellow sports car.
With the announcement of when you can pre-order GTA 6, Rockstar Games also released a short trailer for the cover art of the game. You can see this trailer here:
These are the first reactions to the teaser or the cover art: Many comments show that the start of the pre-orders and the reveal of the cover art give impatient fans the feeling that it is really happening and the game will actually be released at the end of the year.
One user commented on YouTube, saying: “The fact that this is no longer a dream feels surreal.” Others wrote that they replayed the video multiple times from the beginning.
Additionally, the helicopter in the upper left corner of the cover art is being actively commented on. Rockstar Games has thus adhered to an old tradition: Past cover arts have always depicted a helicopter there – often a police helicopter, with GTA 5 featuring the armed Buzzard (a Little Bird).

Rockstar Spreads New Info on the Website
This is also new: On the Rockstar Games website, the developer studio has published a text that provides new background information on the story of protagonists Jason and Lucia:
“As a simple crooked thing entangles Jason and Lucia in a criminal conspiracy spanning the entire state of Leonida, the young criminal couple finds themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in all of America – forced to rely on each other more than ever before if they want to survive.”
GTA 6 will take place in the fictional metropolis of Vice City, which is inspired by Miami in the US state of Florida. Vice City is characterized by a tropical climate and will feature a large sandy beach with a promenade and a vibrant nightlife. Additionally, there will be surrounding swamplands, a national park, as well as the small towns of Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia.
