If you visit the shop of Pokémon GO, you will currently find some new boxes there. Especially one stands out.
This weekend in Pokémon GO, the GO Tour: Hoenn in Las Vegas is on.
In preparation for this, 4 new boxes have landed in the Pokémon GO shop. Additionally, there are the usual 3 Apprentice, Expert, and Exploration boxes. So currently, you can find 7 boxes in the shop.
The boxes contain many and sometimes unusual items, but they cost quite a few coins depending on the contents.
We will show you the contents here and compare the box prices.
Which box in the shop is currently worth it?
The currently most interesting box in the shop is the “Super Raid Box.”
Super Raid Box: Costs 750 coins and contains:
- 10 Premium Battle Passes
- 3 Star Pieces
- 3 Lucky Eggs
These items normally cost a total of 1,000 coins for the Premium Raid Passes, 300 for Star Pieces, and 240 for the Lucky Eggs. This makes 1,540 coins, but you only pay 750 – so you save 790 coins.
For players who raid a lot on-site, this is a good offer. It could also be useful for the Global Hoenn Tour if you want to hunt for Proto-Groudon and Proto-Kyogre.
Especially in comparison to the “Expert Box,” it is worth it. The Expert Box offers the same items but fewer of them and costs even more. Here’s the comparison:
Expert Box: This box costs 900 coins. It contains:
- 10 Premium Battle Passes
- 2 Star Pieces
- 2 Lucky Eggs
These items normally cost 1,360 coins (1,000 for 10 passes, 200 for 2 star pieces, and 160 for the two lucky eggs). So you still save 460 coins, but the Super Raid Box simply offers a better price.
If you plan to buy raid passes, star pieces, and lucky eggs as a box in the shop, better get the Super Raid Box. However, one should note: The Super Raid Box can only be bought three times.
Which boxes are still in the shop?
Here we summarize the remaining 5 boxes that can currently be found in the shop.
Apprentice Box: This box costs 400 coins. It contains:
- 1 Premium Battle Pass
- 1 Super Incubator
- 1 Egg Incubator
These items normally cost a total of 450 coins – so you save 50 coins.
Exploration Box: This box costs 1,850 coins and contains:
- 10 Super Incubators
- 5 Incenses
- 10 Egg Incubators
The items normally cost 2,000 coins for the Super Incubators, 1,500 for the regular incubators, and 200 for Incenses. This makes a total of 3,700 coins, so you save 1,850 coins and thus 50%. However, the box for 1,850 coins is still the second most expensive in the shop.
Training Box: This box costs 550 coins and can be purchased 3 times. It contains:
- 1 Pokémon Storage
- 1 Item Bag
- 50 Ultra Balls
- 2 Incenses
This item collection normally costs 200 coins each for the storage and bag expansion and 80 coins for the two Incense items. This totals 480 coins, Ultra Balls can normally not be purchased but are collected for free in-game – that would then cost 70 coins.
This is not really worth it. If you are interested in the expansions, you should buy them separately.
Wander Box: This box costs 999 coins and can be purchased 3 times. It contains:
- 4 Super Incubators
- 2 Incenses
- 5 Egg Incubators
- 1 Lure Module
These items normally cost 800 coins for the Super Incubators, 80 for Incenses, 750 for Egg Incubators, and 100 for a Lure Module. This totals 1,730 coins, allowing you to save 731 coins.
Legend Box: This is currently the most expensive box in the shop at 3,775 coins. It can only be purchased once. It contains:
- 10 Super Incubators
- 10 Egg Incubators
- 2 Elite Fast TMs
- 2 Elite Charged TMs
The Super Incubators and Egg Incubators already normally cost 3,500 coins together. This leaves 275 coins for the 4 Elite TMs, which are normally only rarely found in the game.
Overall, the box is simply very expensive. If you are after incubators, you would be better off with other boxes.
