What kind of event is this? A Spotlight Hour is a short event lasting only 60 minutes, during which at least one monster is in the spotlight. During the hour, it appears in very large numbers. Additionally, it is accompanied by a bonus.
The last Spotlight Hour of the current month takes place on Thursday, June 25, 2026. You can expect Wingull, the Flying-Water monster from Generation 3. It also has an evolution in Pelipper.
Spotlight Hour on June 25, 2026 – Start and Bonuses
When does the event start? Since the reintroduction of the event, the weekday has changed from Tuesday to Thursday. However, the event still takes place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. You have, as the name of the event suggests, only one hour to take advantage of it.
What bonus is active? If you catch monsters during the event, you will receive double the amount of Stardust for it. It does not matter which Pokémon you catch: the bonus applies to every catch.
Can you catch Shiny-Wingull? Yes. If you are lucky, you can also obtain the Shiny variant of Wingull. However, the chance is not additionally increased during the event.
Is the event worth it? Moderately. Neither Wingull nor its evolution Pelipper are among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. Both monsters currently do not play a significant role in the Battle Leagues.
If you have monsters that provide more Stardust when caught as a reward from field research or a GO Pass, you can use the event to catch these monsters and receive additional Stardust.
