What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a short, 60-minute event that takes place every Thursday. You can expect at least one featured Pokémon, along with a bonus that is active during this time.
On July 30, 2026, the last Spotlight Hour of the month of July awaits you. Here, Bidiza, the Normal-type Pokémon from generation 4, which many trainers ironically regard as a god, will be featured. It also has a evolution in the form of Bidifas.
Spotlight Hour on July 30, 2026 – Start and Bonuses
When does the event start? As usual, the event starts at 6:00 PM. It lasts precisely one hour and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? If you send Pokémon to the Professor during the event, you will receive double the amount of candy for it.
Can you catch Shiny Bidiza? Yes, that is possible. However, you will need some luck. Even though Bidiza appears in high numbers during the event, the shiny rate is not increased.
Is the event worth it? If you are looking for a strong new attacker for your raid team or for the battle leagues during the Spotlight Hour, you will be disappointed. Bidiza is, contrary to its reputation as a god, not a strong Pokémon and thus does not belong to the best attackers in Pokémon GO. This also applies to its evolution.
However, the event’s bonus is strong and should be utilized if your Pokémon storage is bursting at the seams. If you send Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of candy. It is therefore worthwhile to tag the appropriate Pokémon in advance so you can quickly send them during the event.
