The first Spotlight Hour in August is coming up in Pokémon GO. MeinMMO shows you, as usual, which contents you can expect at the event.
What is a Spotlight Hour? The Spotlight Hour is a short event that lasts only 60 minutes. It takes place every Thursday and brings you a Pokémon that is the center of attention during the event, along with a bonus.
The next Spotlight Hour will take place on August 6, 2026. This time, Botogel will be the star of the hour. This Pokémon comes from Generation 2 and has the types Ice and Flying.
Spotlight Hour on August 6, 2026 – Start and Bonuses
When does the event start? As always, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? If you catch Pokémon during this short event, you will receive double the amount of Stardust.
Can you catch Botogel as shiny? Yes, you can also find the shiny form of Botogel during the event. However, since the chance is not increased, you will need some luck for this.
Is the event worth it? If you are hoping for a strong attacker, you will be disappointed at this event. Botogel is not suitable for the Battle League or Raids. You will search in vain for the little penguin on the list of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
However, the event offers a good opportunity to catch Stardust. Botogel is one of the Pokémon that generally gives more Stardust when caught – you receive 500 Stardust per catch for a specimen.
Additionally, there is a bonus on the Stardust caught during the event, so you will receive 1,000 Stardust per catch within the 60 minutes. If you also activate a Star Piece, you will even get a whopping 1,500 Stardust per catch. If you also activate incense to attract even more Pokémon, a significant amount can quickly accumulate.
