The Community Day in March 2025 is just around the corner in Pokémon GO. We will show you what to expect and how to make the most of the event.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day is a regularly occurring event centered around one specific Pokémon. During the event, it appears in very high numbers and has a significantly increased shiny chance. Additionally, there are some strong bonuses.
In March 2025, Krokel will be featured in the Community Day. The Fire-type Pokémon from Generation 9 can evolve into Lokroko and then into Skelokrok. The final evolution also gains the Ghost type.

Additional content for the Community Day: When you open the game during the Community Day, you will receive a free, limited-time research. Here you can obtain Krokel with a special background.
For $2 (around €2), you can also purchase a ticket that gives you access to another special research. Here, you will encounter Krokel, receive a premium battle pass, an XL rare candy, as well as 3 Krokel with special background.

Who is the Community Day with Krokel for?
For collectors: If you have not yet been able to add Krokel and its evolutions to your collection in their shiny variants, then this event is the perfect opportunity to catch up.
Not only is the number of Krokel spawns significantly increased, but the chance to encounter a shiny variant is also enhanced.
For fighters: If you want to use Skelokrok in raids, it is not recommended. The monster cannot be found in the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO either as a Fire or Ghost attacker.
In the battle league, however, Skelokrok can at least hold its own in the Ultra League. Here, it ranks in the upper middle of the best monsters and thus is not the strongest, but still a good choice.
The Perfect Preparation for the Community Day in March 2025
Make space: If you want to catch a lot of Krokel, you will need adequate space in your Pokémon box. So pre-sort any unnecessary Pokémon. If you still need to make space during the event, use a simple trick to quickly sort out Pokémon.
Prepare items: The right items are also important so you can make the most of the event.
- Balls: Make sure you have enough balls before the event. Otherwise, you won’t be able to catch any Pokémon.
- Razz Berries: With Razz Berries, you will receive double the amount of candies when catching a Pokémon. By combining the berry with the event bonus, you will even receive quadruple the amount of candies on a catch.
- Lure Module and Incense: If you activate these items, you can attract additional Krokel to the event. Additionally, they last for 3 hours when activated during the event.
Which Mega Pokémon are worthwhile for the event? If you have activated the appropriate Mega Evolution during the event, you will receive not only extra experience points for each catch but also an additional candy.
Since Krokel itself is only a Fire type, the following Mega Evolutions are suitable to benefit from the extra bonuses:
- Proto-Groudon
- Mega-Lohgock
- Mega-Glurak X
- Mega-Glurak Y
- Mega-Hundemon
