The hunt for rare monsters can indeed be frustrating in Pokémon GO. One specimen stands out in particular.
If you want to catch Shinys in Pokémon GO, you usually need two things: patience and luck. Outside of special events, the chance of encountering the special variant of monsters is quite low.
There are some monsters that are not only rare as Shiny variants, but also have to meet another requirement for you to expand your Shiny Dex: gender. And precisely these monsters can cause quite a bit of frustration. Trainers discuss this on Reddit as well.
“More Estrogen for Pokémon GO”
What kind of monster is this? The monster that trainers are frustrated about on Reddit is Wadribie. It’s not only one of the monsters where you get more stardust when catching, but it can also evolve into Honweisel for 50 candies.
Why is this monster so rare? If you encounter a Wadribie, you only have a 12.5% chance that the monster is female. And as if that weren’t enough, there is an additional peculiarity with the monster: Only female specimens can evolve and become Honweisel.
Consequently, it is quite difficult to obtain a regular Wadribie that you can evolve into Honweisel. It becomes even more challenging if you want to get a Shiny-Honweisel. While you only need luck to get the monster as Shiny with legendary monsters, you need to catch a Shiny-Wadribie and additionally have luck for it to be female for Honweisel.
If you also want it as a Shiny monster with 100% IV (Shundo), you would need extraordinary luck. Accordingly, the hunt for the monster can be very frustrating, as trainers on Reddit point out.

How strong is Honweisel? From a combat perspective, Wadribie and Honweisel are not relevant. Neither in the battle leagues nor in raids are both monsters among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. So it is only relevant if you’re after rare monsters in your collection.
What does the community say? Besides some trainers sharing their successfully obtained Shiny-Honweisel, there are also other trainers sharing their frustration on the topic.

- “I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hate Wadribie. I find it so hard to catch them – they always have a yellow or orange ring, even when their CP is very low. They often escape from Ultra Balls, even when I throw perfectly. They even escape from my Great Balls. I still try to catch them because they give extra stardust…”, comments La19909
