How does the new evolution from Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking in Pokémon GO work? We’ll show you in the guide.
What’s new? In Pokémon GO, since the start of the Halloween event in 2021, the new Slowpoke evolution from Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking has been active.
We’ll explain what requirements the evolution to the new wizard Pokémon has so that you can evolve it without any issues.
The evolution from Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking now works without any issues. Niantic has fixed the bug that cost trainers the evolution.
Evolution to Galar-Slowking – What you need to do
This is how the evolution works: If you want to evolve Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking, you must:
- Choose Galar-Slowpoke as your buddy
- Catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon while Galar-Slowpoke is your buddy
- Have 50 Slowpoke candies for the evolution
If you have met these requirements and select Slowking as the evolution button in your Galar-Slowpoke overview, the following preview window will no longer show a question mark.
What you need to pay attention to: If you have caught a Galar-Slowpoke and select it in your collection, you will see an evolution with the silhouette of Galar-Slowking (recognized by the shell crown) at the bottom of the evolution options.
In the next window, a question mark may then be displayed on the right side of the Pokémon preview. If this is the case for you, you should not evolve it. Because you still lack the requirements.
Where can you find Galar-Slowpoke? During the Halloween event, there are various ways to catch Galar-Slowpoke. The new limited research guarantees you an encounter.
There is also a guaranteed encounter with Galar-Slowpoke in Chapter 9 of the Special Research “Misunderstood Mischief”.
In 1-star raids during the Halloween event, you can also find Galar-Slowpoke.
This bug existed: Many trainers could not evolve Galar-Slowpoke to Galar-Slowking. (As of October 15 at 1:10 PM). For them, Galar-Slowpoke evolved to Galar-Politoed.
For the error with the evolution, Niantic started a new limited research that provided trainers with Slowpoke candies and also an encounter with Galar-Slowpoke. So you can conduct another evolution.
Could the bug be worked around? On reddit , trainers explained that the evolution works if you walk 2 kilometers with Galar-Slowpoke in addition to the official requirements as your buddy. However, this is not a requirement on Niantic’s official blog.
