Just in time for the Halloween event in Pokémon GO there are 8 new field research tasks. We have taken a look at what these tasks are and what rewards await you. We will also show you which quests you should not miss.
What kind of event is it? Every year, a special event takes place in Pokémon GO for Halloween. This is no different in 2021, and trainers can encounter numerous Pokémon in the two event parts “Creepy Companions” and “Spooky Friends” and enjoy many bonuses.
Of course, the new field research tasks must not be missed in this context. For the first part of the Halloween event, 8 new quests have now been released. 3 of these tasks are particularly worthwhile.
When does the Halloween event take place? The event runs from October 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM to October 31, 2021, at 8:00 PM. During this time, the event is divided into two parts, each bringing different Pokémon, bonuses, and quests.
The 8 new quests can be found in the first part of the Halloween event called “Creepy Companions”. This takes place from October 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM to October 22, 2021, at 10:00 AM.
Here are the new quests for the Halloween event
During the Halloween event, you will receive one of up to 8 new quests by spinning the PokéStop, which is associated with the first part of the Halloween event. You will see the tasks in the “Field” overview. This will be displayed to you by clicking on the binoculars in the lower right corner of the map view.

These 3 quests are particularly worthwhile
Of the 8 new field researches, 3 quests are particularly worthwhile, and you should definitely not miss them. All tasks can be completed quickly and easily due to the many Ghost-type Pokémon spawning during the Halloween event.
Galarian Yamask
The quest for Galarian Yamask is the most worthwhile. This Ground and Ghost-type Pokémon could only be caught through the special research “A Creepy-Macabre Message” until now. For that reason, it was quite rare.
For this year’s Halloween event, it is back and can finally be caught in field research. You should definitely take this opportunity, as it is expected that Galarian Yamask will again become quite rare after the Halloween event.
Unlike the normal form of Yamask, it can evolve into Runerigus. Therefore, this Pokémon will be particularly interesting for trainers hoping for a complete (Lucky) Pokédex.
However, these two Pokémon are not strong and are thus not really suitable for use in raids or in the PvP league (via pvpoke.com). Shiny hunters will also have to wait, as a shiny variant is not yet in the game.
Costumed Pokémon
In addition to Galarian Yamask, the two tasks involving costumed Pokémon can also be interesting. Pikachu, Piplup, and Drifloon are wearing Halloween Mischief costumes this year. You can only obtain these during the current event, and the costumed monsters will disappear afterward.
It is not yet known whether they will return next year. So if you want to collect all the costumed monsters for your Pokédex, you have the chance with these tasks. And shiny hunters can be happy as all three costumed Pokémon are also available in their shiny form.

Other researches and bonuses you should take advantage of
In addition to the new field researches, there are many other bonuses and researches during the Halloween event. You will receive double candies when you catch, send, or hatch Pokémon. And you are guaranteed XL candies for walking with your buddy.
