In League of Legends, a bug has occurred that affects players who accidentally buy jungler items while playing on a lane. This causes them to receive less experience points in LoL for the rest of the game.
What bug is it? In League of Legends, there have always been annoying bugs, but players have now discovered one that can cost you the match. The bug occurs when you accidentally buy an item that is meant for junglers at the start of the game.
Even if you sell the purchased item again, it won’t save you, because according to the thread, you will receive less experience points for the rest of the game.
A wrong purchase and your match is over
How does the bug specifically occur? To trigger the bug, certain conditions must be met: You have selected Smite as your summoner spell. Summoner spells are chosen before the match begins.
If you then do not play as a jungler but are deployed on one of the lanes, you only lack the last step to seal your fate. If you then accidentally buy an item that is actually meant for a jungler out of habit, your match could be over.
How was the bug noticed? In a subreddit for League of Legends, a player reports on the incident. He actually wanted to play on the top lane, but accidentally took Smite as his secondary summoner spell.
Some players also use Smite as part of a sophisticated strategy on other lanes, which means this could become a bigger problem.
Other players describe similar issues in the thread on Reddit or have reproduced exactly this bug, confirming the previously reported incident. One player in the thread stated that this bug cost him the mid lane
.
What happens next? Riot Games has already acknowledged the error and is working on a solution. In the latest patch notes 14.8 on their website, nothing has been described about the error so far, so it remains to be seen when the error will be fixed.
Riot usually responds very quickly to player bug reports. Sometimes, however, they also handle criticism from the community surprisingly humorously. You can read more about it here:
