How can I open chests without keys? In the technology tree, you will find the item “Lockpicker”. This is one of the “Important Items”, which are categorized in their own inventory section. They do not consume normal slots, have no weight, and do not wear out. Therefore, it is completely sufficient to craft each lockpicker level once.
You unlock the lockpickers on the right, purple side of the technology tree with Ancient Technology Points. You earn these points through activities such as defeating tower bosses or Alpha Pals.
The following lockpicks are available:
- Simple Lockpicker (Level 16; 1 point) – replaces Steel Key
- Materials: 10x Metal Bars, 10x Paldium Shard, 5x Nail
- Quality Lockpicker (Level 25; 2 points) – replaces Silver Key
- Materials: 20x Metal Bars, 20x Paldium Shard, 10x Nail
- Professional Lockpicker (Level 53; 3 points) – replaces Gold Key
- Materials: 30x Paluminum Bars, 30x Paldium Shard, 20x Nail
How do I use the lockpicker? Once you are in front of a locked chest, you can either open it with the appropriate key or break it open. If you choose to break it open, a mini-game starts that many already know from Skyrim or Fallout:
You move the lockpick with the mouse or the stick and turn the lock with another button at the same time. If you hit the right angle, the chest will pop open, and the loot belongs to you.
