Some players set personal challenges for themselves. So does a player in Palworld, who aimed to complete the game only with the weakest Pal – and succeeded.
What kind of challenge did the player set for himself? Reddit user JonPhony shares in his post a challenge he set for himself: to complete Palworld exclusively with Chikipis. This is one of the very first Pals encountered in the game, and thus one of the weakest.
It has no particularly strong or useful abilities and doesn’t withstand much damage. Additionally, this limitation brings several other obstacles, for which the player had to find other solutions … and he did.
JonPhony shows in his post that he actually managed to complete the challenge in 98 days.
A run full of obstacles, but not impossible
How did the player achieve this? His post proudly displays several screenshots of his Paldex, his base, and his equipment. About 204 Chikipis accompanied him on his adventure – the second recorded Pal is the boss Panthalus, who is automatically captured when defeated.
In his post, JonPhony shares not only screenshots showing his final results but also an explanation of the hurdles that arose from the challenge and how he personally overcame them:
- No flying or riding
- Chikipi can’t do any of that, so he mainly moved with a combination of 2 grappling hook guns and a glider.
- No lengthy swimming
- For that, he also used a combination of glider and a lot of stamina.
- No smelting ores
- Here, he managed by defeating Bushis and making additional purchases from NPCs where necessary.
- No mass breeding
- Since he had no watering Pal available to produce flour, he had to rely on the 1% drop chance of cakes from Lovander kills. As this was too time-consuming, he gave up on that.
- Little experience for catching Pals
- Catching for XP is only worthwhile until the 5th Pal. Since he only caught Chikipis, he grinded dungeons and bosses to level up.
- No electricity Pals
- Here he only used the human-powered generator for some items he urgently needed.
- No optimized endgame equipment
- Due to the lack of resources, he could only craft the equipment from the Terraria update, which is by far not as powerful as the real endgame equipment.
He also notes that with his challenge he only covered the main story. He has so far avoided the particularly difficult bosses at the summoning altar, which he definitely wants to try eventually.
Additionally, he advises anyone who wants to undertake a similar challenge to map the button for throwing spheres to a more unusual key to avoid accidentally ruining the run by catching another Pal.
